Wild Hearts Adventure Co. serves the community in two ways. One is our twice-weekly drop-off program that encourages students to develop a growth mindset with an emphasis on creativity and personal excellence. Additionally, we have Friday expeditions for learners in this area including field trips, group hikes, and entrepreneurial events.

Wild Hearts believes in empowering learners, encouraging curiosity, personalizing education, and developing character. Creativity, the freedom to explore individual passions, autonomy, and the value of developing intrinsic motivation are core values of our community culture.

We help with working on all core skills in a group setting and then provide additional suggestions for how you can continue to help your child work toward their goals for the rest of the week away from our program. We do not require other work to be done at home, but our system can be used at home as a core curriculum.

Our program has challenges and badges to work toward that help learners progress in their skills while working on subjects and topics that are interesting to them. We do not assign homework, but instead have a number of goals that we challenge our learners to meet before the end of the year and then we give them freedom and support to figure out how they are going to complete those challenges.

We serve TK-12 students in multi-grade groups based on learning/maturity levels. Your input will be taken in to account as we decide on the groupings.

We plan for each class group to be no more than  10-15 students. They will have time for both independent work and group work. If a student is sitting at a desk doing work independently, that is their choice. We rarely, if ever, have a teacher lecturing, and students being expected to sit quietly and listen. Each class has a guide that is trained in helping the children work toward their goals and also to bring in videos, audiobooks, and hands-on projects to learn as a group. We also have a full hour for lunch, which allows for a lot of socialization. That is a very popular time of the day! They love having unstructured time to just hang out. It is also important for their development.

Not a problem! Our learners all work at their own level. We encourage personal excellence, not checking boxes. We meet students where they are educationally and developmentally and celebrate their individual strengths.

We offer several educational platforms including: Curiosity Chronicles, Generation Genius, CTC Math, and Quests (for learners to earn badges that show their learning). We cover math, ELA, science, and social studies.

The offered math curriculum will be online and available for use at home throughout the week. Depending on the grade, it will usually be about 5 lessons per week for the year to finish up the curriculum. You and your child can choose whether or not you want to finish the whole year’s work, allow them to only finish part of it, or not use the offered curriculum at all. This will be put into the contract the student agrees to.
For language arts, we will have a series of challenges that we will ask them to complete before the year is done and they can choose when to work on those. They can do them at our program and at home.
For history and science, we will have in-person instruction and hands-on projects to engage in as a group every week. If they only attend one day a week, they will only get one of these each week.
For all of the above subjects, we will support each student to have one grade-level sample prepared by the end of each learning period (LP) for a total of up to 4 grade-level samples. (If they attend only one day a week, we will support them to prepare up to 2 grade-level samples per LP.)

Our twice-weekly program, which runs from September through November, and January through May, is $300 per month. We accept charter school funds! Additionally, there is an annual registration fee of $30 per student (or $50 per family).

Absolutely! Work samples can be taken from any activities already offered throughout the month. Although our program is not “worksheet heavy” by nature, there are many opportunities for written work that can work well for samples and other tangible examples of learning throughout the month.  In addition to that, we do offer to support our students to have one grade-level sample prepared by the end of the learning period (LP) per subject for a total of up to 4 grade level samples per LP .

(If they attend only one day a week, we will support them in preparing up to 2 grade-level samples per LP.)

Additionally, if a grade or subject-specific sample is requested, we are more than happy to make sure that need is met.

Yes, students should bring lunches, and any snacks they may want throughout the day.

No, the commitment is month to month.  There will never be any expectation of commitment, or pressure, to ever continue with anything that isn’t a good fit for your family.  We are here to serve you and your student’s needs first and foremost!
